Art Deco fireplaces are a focal point in the main area of your home

There are many areas of West Yorkshire particularly around the Leeds area which exhibit fine examples of the classic Art Deco fireplace style from 1908 to 1935. The style is demonstrated by opulent colour and floral features.

Embers for a number of years has witnessed a resurgence of interest in this style of fire place and have both repaired restored and created many reproductions of this popular period of fireplace.

Tiled fireplaces incorporating geometric coloured tiles have become a specialty and when installed with a complimenting wooden mantel they can produce a striking feature in the right setting.

Originally from the 1930 many Semi detached houses built in and around Leeds area still feature this style of tiled fireplace, however many examples were removed as fashions changed but for those clients who are devotees of this period Embers can reproduce and install fine examples.

We occasionally come across original examples and can occasionally offer or source early items.

Period Art Deco fireplaces were predominately coal fired but Embers have often been able to enhance an original example by incorporating a more efficient and environmentally friendly gas alternative.

However, for those clients who want to keep to the authentic setting a visit to the Embers showroom is advised.

We have a number of original items in our store room, unfortunately not open to the public, but if you can describe what you are looking for we will most likely be able to assist.

Slabbing of tiled fireplaces is now almost a lost art but skills built up over 32 years at Embers allow our craftsmen and suppliers to be able to create something specifically for you in the colours and style to suit your setting.

Art Deco fireplaces often incorporate ornate Brass or Copper metal items and if we cannot locate these items we can often have a bespoke item reproduced.

We have on many occasions been told by clients that they bought a property because of the fireplace.
